The ruler of Belarus has offered up the capital, Minsk, as a possible venue for peace talks between Ukraine and Russia. “It is possible and quite realistic to stop this conflict, to solve all the issues,” Alexander Lukashenko said, according to state agency Belta. “Maybe they will listen to me.” Lukashenko is a close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Belarus recently conducted joint military drills with Russian forces.
