Johannes Thingnes Bö emulated fellow Norwegian Ole Einar Björndalen with four biathlon gold medals at one Olympics when he won the mass start on Friday. Bö flirted with disaster by missing the last two targets for a race total of four but his rivals were also forced into penalty laps which allowed him to triumph over 15 kilometres in 38 minutes 14.4 seconds.
