Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in Beijing, where he is due to meet with Chinese leader Xi Jinping. The two heads of state are widely expected to make a great show of their growing friendship as tensions in the Ukraine crisis remain high. The Russian president is travelling to Beijing for the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics, which will be held on Friday evening at the national stadium in Beijing, better known to most as the “Bird’s Nest.”
