Karl Heinz-Rummenigge will be inducted into the Italian football hall of fame, the country’s governing FIGC said late Thursday. The highly decorated Rummenigge, the former long-standing chairman of Bayern Munich, will be the first German included in the role honour since the practice was established in 2011. Rummenigge, 66, will be entered under the ‘foreign players’ category, which already includes former stars such as Michel Platini, Diego Maradona and Marco van Basten, having played for Inter Milan 1984-1987.
