The Academic Staff Union of Universities, Obafemi Awolowo University OAU, Ile-Ife branch, has begun a strike over the school authority’s failure to pay earned academic allowance. The strike decision was made as part of the ASUU emergency Congress’s resolutions on Monday, January 31. The union claims that the authority has made no genuine attempt to pay qualified members’ dues, leading to the decision to go on indefinite strike.
