New Jersey has become the seventh state to where deer have tested positive for the coronavirus, officials said. SARS-CoV-2, which can lead to COVID-19, has been detected in two free-ranging deer in Atlantic and Cumberland counties, the state Division of Fish and Wildlife said last week. New York, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan and Ohio are the other states where the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Wildlife Services have reported the virus in deer.
